House for an Art Lover Wedding

Chris and Eilidh

A Beautiful Wedding at The House for an Art Lover

The House for an Art Lover is one of Glasgow’s most sought after wedding venues and an excellent location for wedding photography in Glasgow. When Eilidh and Chris were searching for Glasgow wedding photographers, they were drawn to my relaxed, natural style which suited the casual and heartfelt look they wanted for their special day.

Arriving at The House for an Art Lover

Eilidh and Chris opted not to have traditional bridal preparation, so the day began with Eilidh arriving at the venue with her parents and bridesmaids. Before the ceremony, I took a few photos of Eilidh in her dress with her bridal party. These candid shots provided a relaxed start to the day and set the tone for their natural wedding photography.

The White Room – Perfect Ceremony Photography

The White Room at The House for an Art Lover, is one of the most photogenic wedding ceremony rooms in Glasgow. Even on an overcast autumn day, the room is filled with soft, natural light , making it ideal for capturing the emotions and details of the ceremony.

Natural Couple Portraits

After the ceremony the weather gave us a small break, so we headed outdoors for Eilidh and Chris’s wedding couple photoshoot. I suggested using a path through nearby Bellahouston Park and asked them to simply walk along the path so I could capture natural , unposed moments. From there I took a few more portraits of them standing together, enjoying the moment.  They were so relaxed that very little direction was needed, which resulted in authentic and romantic wedding portraits in Glasgow. Just as we finished, the rain started, so we returned inside for family photography.

Family and Drinks Reception Photography

The White Oval Room is perfect for intimate family photos at Glasgow weddings. Eilidh and Chris only wanted pictures of immediate family, which allowed plenty of time to capture candid shots of guests during the drinks reception. The close proximity of the reception and ceremony spaces gave a warm , intimate atmosphere throughout the day.

Capturing Speeches and the Evening Reception

For the speeches, I stayed in one spot to avoid blocking guest’s views, using a discreet folding stool to get the right angles. The staff at The House for an Art Lover do an excellent job of converting the house into a versatile wedding venue, including transforming the downstairs café into the evening reception space, which was a great setting for the couples’ first dance.

Glasgow Wedding Photography Gallery

Below is a selection of wedding photography from Eilidh and Chris’s day at The House for an Art Lover.  For weddings without bridal prep, I usually provide around 400 images, but I’ve edited these down for easier viewing while highlighting the best moments of their special day.

I’m always happy to meet up or have a Zoom chat so please get in touch if you’d like to find out more.
