Claire and Alasdair’s June wedding at the Lands of Loyal Hotel near Blairgowrie was a relaxed, intimate celebration that perfectly reflected their warm, easygoing nature. It was full of laughter and lots of personal touches. Their special day was the kind of celebration that reminds me why I love Scottish wedding photography.
‘Wow! We are over the moon with the photos. Thanks so much. We are absolutely delighted.’

A Venue with Character
The Lands of Loyal Hotel is a Victorian gem, full of antique furniture, rich woodwork and quirky period charm. It’s a venue with personality and it suited Claire and Alasdair perfectly. Their ceremony took place in the main hall, featuring an elegant staircase and a grand fireplace. Despite the grandeur of the surroundings, the atmosphere was informal and centred on family and close friends, making it a perfect setting for Lands of Loyal Hotel wedding photography.
A Ceremony with Personality
One of the most memorable moments came during the traditional quaich ceremony. Instead of deciding who would take the first sip in advance, Claire and Alasdair played a spontaneous game of rock, paper, scissors. Alasdair technically won but in true gentlemanly style, he let Claire decide anyway. Small details like this made the ceremony uniquely theirs and added personality to their intimate Scottish wedding.
Scottish Weather and Perfect Portraits
As is often the case in Scotland the weather was unpredictable, with showers coming on and off. Luckily, just after the ceremony the rain lifted long enough for portraits on the hotel grounds. Claire and Alasdair were very natural and relaxed in front of the camera. Using the light and natural surroundings I captured some beautiful images of them together. Moments later the rain returned as if on cue!
Capturing Natural Moments
Claire and Alasdair chose me as their Glasgow wedding photographer because of my candid style, which suited the day perfectly. From guests mingling to their young son enjoying the celebration, the best images came from observing peoples interactions. These spontaneous moments during the ceremony became some of my favourite photographs of the day.
A First Dance for Three
One of the most touching moments came during the first dance when Claire and Alasdair’s son joined them and the three of them danced together in a lovely moment. It wasn’t just a celebration of their marriage, it was a celebration of their family, perfectly captured through my Scottish wedding photography.
A Day to Remember
Claire and Alasdair’s wedding was the perfect mix of simplicity and warmth. Even with the unpredictable weather, the day flowed naturally, full of the moments that mattered most. Their celebration is a reminder that the best weddings aren’t about perfection. Instead, they’re about connection, laughter and love shared with the people who matter most.
It was a privilege to photograph their day and capture all the authentic, unscripted moments that made it unique to them. Their celebration was a wonderful example of Lands of Loyal Hotel wedding photography and an intimate Scottish wedding captured with a natural, storytelling approach.
